Disney Princess - Rarity

It seems to me that Rarity often earns the short end of the stick when it comes to crossover casting; she's either cast as someone vain or catty, or simply as the token "pretty one." One of the great things about MLP, however, is that the characters have such depth. Sure, Rarity loves fashion and beauty, and she can certainly be dramatic, but neither of those should classify her as shallow. Rarity is feisty, witty, deeply attached to her art, and above all, a good friend.

Casting Rarity as Aurora, as I've often seen, sells Rarity short. She chases what she wants, and while she's willing to use her beauty to get it at times, she has a beautiful heart and a generous nature at her core. That's what makes Jasmine such a perfect fit for her, and why I loathe seeing Rarity cast as any of the Princesses that simply exist to look pretty in a dress.

On a technical note, it's disappointing that I wasn't able to do any of the lovely gradient effect of Rarity's hair on Paint, but that's just one of the limitations of using such a basic program. I'm also not 100% happy with the shape of the bottom of her tail, and I may go back and redo it. I love how her harem pants and jewelry turned out, though!

Done with the Mane Six! Expect the CMC up in the next few days, followed by Celestia, Luna, and Cadance (and perhaps her Prince, too).

Edit 8/3 Complete redo! This took ages, what with the edits I had to make to the base and drawing the carpet for her to fly on. I think it turned out just gorgeous!
